Former horseback rider Gigi Hadid gets back to her roots in the newest issue of Allure this month, posing on the back of a horse in nothing but a thong.
The model-of-the-moment strikes another sultry pose for the issue’s December cover, which sees her open up about bullying, her mother’s struggle with Lyme disease, and boyfriend Zayn Malik.
“I always want to prove myself and to let people know I’m a good person,” she says as she broaches the subject of online trolls. “A lot of people don’t realize they’re typing this stuff, and that’s a lot of negative energy—regardless of whether we see it or not. People just don’t realize the power of their judgment.”
The 21-year-old also gets emotional about her mother, Yolanda Foster, who continues to fight Lyme disease. Foster’s journey has been well documented on “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” but the show failed to show the everyday toll it took on her family. “She couldn’t come to my volleyball games—the light and sound really got to her,” Hadid reveals.
“She tried to be a power mom,” she adds.
And in a rare comment about her relationship with Zayn Malik, the cover girl gushes about having a former One Direction member serenade her shirtless. “Yeah, that’s not hard to look at. I’ll never complain about that.”
