Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s won a lot of titles, from his time in the ring to his box office-topping films, but this new one really takes the cake.
“‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle,'” Dwayne said to himself after receiving the honour of People’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2016. “I’m not quite too sure where we go from here. I’ve done it all, this is it.”
Johnson opens up to the magazine about growing up in Hawaii.
“I was doing a lot of things that I shouldn’t have,” the 44-year-old says about his teenage years.
“I was getting arrested multiple times, but at the same time, always very respectful to my teachers and elders. I was unsure of who I was and who I wanted to be,” he adds.
But that’s all changed since the star found his footing in Hollywood, thanks to his daughters Jasmine, 11 months, and Simone, 15.
“I’ve made big sweeping changes in my career over the years, which have served me nicely,” he says. “But I feel that the big sweeping changes that happened in my life, in my relationships, of being a dad, of being a partner, and the things that I was and the things that I am, has really lent itself to a confidence.”
And it seems the star isn’t shy about it, telling Sangita Patel about his personal connection to his new film “Moana”.
“We just have this awesome family that is truly non-traditional but so rooted in love. And that’s such a cool thing,” he says. “I’m very proud of it.”
Humbled and excited about his new appointment, the “Fast 8” star knows he’s going to get a little grief, saying, “It’s coming now, I can just imagine how it’s going to be,” he says with a laugh. “But see, here’s the thing, they give me grief, but they all wish. They all wish.”
Johnson is set to celebrate his new title and his upcoming Disney film on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” November 15.
