The story of Marilyn Monroe has already been dramatized countless times, but a new Lifetime miniseries promises to shed even further light on the tragic life of the iconic Hollywood starlet.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lifetime is developing a new miniseries based on J. Randy Taraborrelli’s book The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe.
Taraborrelli’s 2010 book, says THR, is “considered the most definitive Monroe biography,”; and chronicles her relationship with her mentally ill mother while documenting the actress’s own struggles with mental illness. The book also delves into her tumultuous marriages and alleged affairs with John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert.
The Marilyn Monroe miniseries will join such Lifetime biopics as the Lindsay Lohan-starring Liz & Dick, the upcoming Whitney Houston movie and the sure-to-be-salacious unauthorized Saved By the Bell flick slated for the beginning of next month.
