With Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher expecting their second child very soon, the race is on to find the perfect name for their baby boy.
During his appearance on “Conan” Wednesday night, Kutcher explains Kunis turned down his name proposal after giving it the green light many weeks prior. “There was a rallying cry from a collective that believed in the name Hawkeye,” he says. However, “Hawkeye Kutcher didn’t fly…[It] didn’t get across the Mila threshold. It came to the threshold but then it got knocked down.”
Kutcher went on to tell the audience why he fell in love with the unusual rejected name. “I’m an Iowan — to have a kid named Hawkeye [after the University of Iowa football team] — and it’s, like, ‘MASH’,” the “Ranch” star says, referencing the sitcom’s character Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce. “He could be a doctor!”
All kidding aside, Kutcher reveals they’ve finally settled on a moniker they both agree on, which has only brought on increased anxiety for the celebrity couple: “We have a name dialed in, which we’ve had for a while. The problem is, if you get the name too soon, there can be slight trepidation around the name. So the other day Mila was like, ‘Do you still like the name?’ I was like, ‘Yeah.'”
Kutcher adds: “And I was like, ‘Well, you like the name, right?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah.’ And I was like, ‘Wait, why did you say it like that?’…So now we’re like, ‘Maybe we don’t like the name,’ even though we both love the name. So, I think we have the name.”
Kutcher and Kunis are already parents to a two-year-old daughter named Wyatt.
