Comments made by Drake during OVO Fest have spun off into a nasty fine for the Toronto Raptors.
The NBA fined the Raptors $25,000 for tampering because their brand ambassador suggested onstage that basketball superstar Kevin Durant might be a good fit with the club.
“My brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us,”; shared Drake at his signature music bash. “I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto.“
The fans boomed “KD! KD! KD!”; after Drake’s pro-Raps banter. Clearly, they agreed with the Canadian rap megastar’s scouting analysis. (Who wouldn’t? Durant is amazing.)
Drake’s perceived courting of Durant was read by the NBA as recruiting, a big no-no when it comes to players that are under contract with other franchises. No word yet on if the Raptors will make Drizzy work the $25,000 off by selling popcorn in the stands throughout the season.
