Jonathan Roy and Corey Hart have teamed up for a duet of Chris Rea’s 1988 holiday classic, “Driving Home For Christmas.”
The two Canadian recording artists appear in a new music video for the song, produced and directed by Ben Knechtel in Bethany, Ontario. Showing off their brotherly bond, the video follows Roy as he hitches a ride from Hart who is on his way to buy a Christmas tree.
According to a press release for the song, Roy and Hart recorded their new duet immediately following Hart’s induction into Canada’s Walk of Fame this past October. The two musicians reportedly met back in 2013, when Hart signed Roy to his Siena Records label partnered with Warner Music Canada.
“I’ve had an incredibly exciting year traveling coast to coast across Canada to promote my music,” says Roy, who recently completed a tour of Southern Ontario with Burton Cummings. “I met so many wonderful folks at radio and amazing fans at my live shows — I can’t wait for everyone to hear my new songs with the release of Mr. Optimist Blues.”
