Brandi Glanville has issued an apology for a controversial photo the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star posted on her Facebook account, which led fans to come out furious force to express their disgust at the photo that apparently mocks the religious beliefs underlying Christmas.
In this Facebook pic, Glanville jokingly squats above the baby Jesus in a life-sized Nativity scene, seemingly pretending that she’s giving birth in the manger.
“Never forget the reason for the season,” she writes, adding the hashtags #sweetchildoine, #gunsnroses #sandiego #oldtown.
While Glanville subsequently took the post down, screenshots remain:
Facebook comments about the photo have been overwhelmingly negative.
“Brandy you look like a nice person, and that’s why I like your page,” writes one commenter. “But this is so offensive and out of control, really make me rethink if you are crazy, or only looking for attention. Grow up!!!!!!”
Writes another: “Wow, just wow!! You managed to offend practically everyone with this post. Are you stupid or something?”
Another commenter adds: “Come on, Brandy, I’m a fan of yours and after seeing this I don’t even know if I wanna know you any more. I actually have found this very offensive.”
Others made such comments as “what the hell were you thinking?”, as well as “in poor taste and offensive,” “insensitive and disrespectful,” “a new low for you” and “not cool at all.”
Following the uproar, Glanville took to Twitter and issued an apology… of sorts.
“Guess what! God forgave me! Now you people that don’t think spewing hate is a sin might want to check with our Lord! #hypocrisy,” she tweeted.
“I made a joke about where babies come from in poor taste. I am Christian raised Lutheran. I apologized & took it down. God forgives that’s it!!” she wrote in a followup tweet.
As for why she down the offending photo? Her mom asked her to.
