Canadian rock heroes Our Lady Peace have a brand new music video at the ready and ET Canada is excited to be the home of its premiere.
The beloved group, who are soldiering on without longtime drummer Jeremy Taggart, embrace the realm of pop with their new cut “Won’t Turn Back”;. The Mike Elizondo-produced track now comes equipped with a music video that follows an adorable girl on her trek to get her pet fish to the beach. It’s a voyage you’ll want to come along on.
“This is the best response we’ve had from a single since “Clumsy’,“; said Maida in an interview with RiffYou.com. “It’s definitely poppier than a lot of the stuff we’ve had, but I look at some of The Clash’s stuff – and they’ve always been one of my favourite bands – and you talk about “Train in Vain”, which today would be considered a pop song. That kind of justifies it for me. It just feels good. It’s one of those choruses that feels really up, but I’m kind of singing like I did on Naveed…it has a really aggressive vocal thing to it. I like that juxtaposition.“
Interested in catching Our Lady Peace live? The band will be on display as one of the star attractions at Saturday’s Edgefest. The Juno-approved rock vets will be headlining the Toronto festival and play on the same bill as Sloan, I Mother Earth and Eve 6.
