Alexander Ludwig is definitely a star on the rise. He first became familiar to audiences as Cato – the fierce and ferocious Tribute opposite Jennifer Lawrence in The Hunger Games in 2012.  Now, the 22-year-old is turning heads as the young warrior Bjorn on History’s massive hit show Vikings.  But make no mistake – Alexander is no overnight sensation – He has worked hard for all the success he’s enjoying now!

The Vancouverite started acting at the ripe old age of nine and has been steadily building up a resume on film and TV.

This Friday he returns to the big screen with his role as a high school football star in When the Game Stands Tall. The movie is inspired by a true story about a team that pulls together in the face of adversity with support from their coach and community.

That’s a theme that resonates with Alexander himself. He tells us he owes the success he has today in large part to the support of one special woman – his mother: “She drove me to every audition before I could even drive and she’s always had my back.”

That’s dedication considering Alexander is the eldest of four kids!! He goes on to say his mother “always believed in me even when I didn’t.”
