The Chainsmokers Address Their Rumoured Twitter Feud With Halsey: ‘Some A**hole Wrote Mean Things’

The Chainsmokers are putting their rumoured feud with Halsey to rest.

While speaking with ET Canada during the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in Toronto, DJ duo Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall addressed their so-called dispute with their “Closer” collaborator, which saw Taggart allegedly tweet from his account, “F**k you bald, b**ch,” in response to Halsey reportedly complementing Lady Gaga’s new album.

“My Twitter got hacked and some a**hole wrote some mean things to her,” Taggart explained to ET Canada. “When I brought it up to her, I said, ‘Obviously, I didn’t say this.’ She said, ‘Look, it’s happened to me before. It’s happens to everybody.'”

Despite the scrutiny that sometimes follows fame, the multi-platinum artists are still embracing their new level of recognition, earning a nod for “Favourite Group” at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards and even picking up the American Music Award for “Favourite E.D.M. Artist” this past month.

“It’s nice to be recognized and see our fans enjoying everything we are doing – and we’re just taking it in stride,” Pall said. “It’s an honour that someone wants to come up and take a picture with us.”
