Yes, it’s been a full two decades since Marie Claire hit North American newsstands. And to commemorate this impressive accomplishment, the women’s magazine has a 20th anniversary edition ready for September.

In addition to placing the oh-so-lively Blake Lively on its cover, Marie Claire has introduced a special section titled, “20 Women Changing The World.’ The list features a number of familiar faces and names, including Chelsea Clinton, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Melinda Gates, Gabrielle Giffords, Shakira, Taylor Swift, and Olivia Wilde.

The magazine refers to the those who made the cut as “movers, shakers, mavericks, and badasses who are boldly, bravely, audaciously blazing new paths for women and girls… Those who forged ahead to alleviate the problems in areas of health, education, violence, economic empowerment, and political engagement.”;

“We couldn’t have found a more dynamic, diverse group of powerful women,”; notes Anne Fulenwider, Marie Claire’s editor-in-chief. “I am beyond proud of the portfolio. I can’t wait for the next one!”
