“Ray Donovan” star Liev Schreiber was put in an uncomfortable position during an interview with “CBS This Morning” on Thursday.
The 49-year-old actor was asked point-blank about his recent split with his partner of 11 years, Naomi Watts.
“I have to say, I was very disappointed when I heard the two of you had separated,” host Gayle King says, according to E! News. “You two seem to have navigated raising your children together. Is change scary for you?”
“Yeah. Of course it is,” Schreiber replies. “But, you know, we’re parents together so we’ll be together for the rest of our lives no matter what and we’re very close. Hopefully, that never changes and I don’t think it will.”
The couple, who announced their separation in September, have two sons together, Alexander, 9, and Samuel, 7. The pair have also had to put their differences aside while promoting the new film “The Bleeder”, which stars both Schreiber and Watts.
In an interview with The Daily Telegraph Australia last week, Watts admitted the split has been “scary,” but the couple is in a “good place” now.
“I feel like change is always scary, but that’s only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go,” she said.
