Supermodel Kate Moss gives her best Elvis Presley impression in a new music video for “The Wonder of You”.
Directed by Vaughan Arnell and shot in all black-and-white, the 42-year-old British beauty can be seen channelling the King of Rock n’ Roll in the video – wearing smoky eyeliner and a black leather jumpsuit, taking inspiration from Presley’s own attire in the 1968 TV comeback special, “Elvis”.
According to Rolling Stone magazine, the video was born after Arnell noticed the similarity in legendary Presley photographs and Moss’ own fashion shots. In another scene Moss also lounges against a lush sofa in a button-up shirt and fishnet stockings, before she switches into something more glitzy.
The track is part of a new album arranged by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra titled, “The Wonder Of You: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra”, which will feature alongside an array of other Presley classics.
Produced by Don Reedman and Nick Patrick, the album is an ode to rock, gospel, country and balladry and is a follow-up to the 2015 record, “If I Can Dream: Elvis Presley With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra”, which topped the charts worldwide.
Elvis’ widow Priscilla Presley, who is listed as executive producer on the LP, says in a statement: “We often talked about his interest in recording material that allowed him to perform in that space.”
Speaking about her involvement in the project, Moss, who has become known for her own chic rocker style, reveals, “I was so excited to be asked to be involved in this project, anything for Elvis.”
