“X-Men”; star Shawn Ashmore was the first big Canadian star ET Canada ever interviewed, so what better way for us to kick off our 10th season than by catching up with the actor at his LA home.
“I feel like I was very lucky to be the first Canadian to be interviewed for ET Canada,”; he tells us. “It’s an honour. Obviously a new show starting out is an exciting thing and it was very cool to be a part of that,”; he adds.
Speaking of “cool things,”; we thought it would be fun to relive that interview with Ashmore, showing him a clip, which you can watch below!
At the time of our retro 2005 interview, the actor was “a baby”; (his words, not ours). At 25-years-old, Ashmore was single and busy working on the sequel to “X-Men”;.
“It was really the first time I got publicity and started doing interviews,”; he tells us of the way back playback adding, “Entertainment Tonight Canada reaching out and saying “we want to do an interview with you’ was a huge deal.”;
Now a seasoned publicity pro, Ashmore has starred in a slew of other films and is, sorry ladies, no longer single.
Married for two years to his film executive wife Dana, the actor simply says “life is good.”;
Fans of Iceman will get to see more of Ashmore on the small screen this year as the actor reprises his role of Agent Mike Weston on the hit show, “The Following”;. Ashmore opened up about what it was like to work with one of his idols, Kevin Bacon.
“Working with Kevin is amazing,”; he says. “I think I was two degrees before shooting “The Following’ and now I’m one…or maybe none. I’m not actually clear on how the degrees work,”; he jokes.
Tune-in to ET Canada tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET for more with our Canadian Star of the Week: Shawn Ashmore!
