There will be a lot of heartbroken “Property Brothers” fans after they find out that brother Drew Scott is officially off the market after popping the question to longtime girlfriend Linda Phan.
Accortding to People, the pair got engaged at Toronto restaurant Piano Piano, PEOPLE can exclusively announce the pair are engaged. “I’ve never met another woman like her and once you do, you want to be with her forever,” Scott, 38, tells People of his 31-year-old fiancee.
Scott, reports People, had been planning the elaborate surprise proposal surprise for weeks, and went to extremes to ensure she didn’t find out what he was planning.
“I’ve had to be as stealthy as a ninja to pull this off,” he says, adding that he’s been carrying the ring around with him for weeks and and kept all his plans offline to prevent Phan from accidentally stumbling upon a clue.
Thankfully, she had no clue about his romantic scheme, which involved Scott recording his own version of Train’s “Marry Me”, which he arranged to have played in the restaurant during their dinner, which triggered staff to bring out a cake decoraged with images from Dr. Seuss’s Oh the Places You’ll Go — one of her all-time favourite reads — that was adjusted to read “Oh the Places We’ll Go” to reflect the journey on which they are about to embark.
But that was just the beginning, with People reporting that Scott then whisked Phan to a surprise engagement party full of friends and family, including both their parents and, of course, Scott’s brothers Jonathan and J.D.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
