The highly anticipated “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” smashed its opening weekend at the box office, raking in a whopping $155 million in revenue.

Far behind in second place is Disney’s animated film “Moana”, which generated $11.6 million during the final weekend before Christmas.

Coming in at No. 3 is “Office Christmas Party” starring Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, T.J. Miller, Kate McKinnon and Olivia Munn. The star-studded comedy brought in $8.4 million.

Globally, the “Star Wars” franchise film, which stars Felicity Jones and Diego Luna, brought in $290.5 million, making it the second-best opening of all time for the month of December — trailing behind “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
