The late Alan Thicke was honoured in a star-studded memorial service in Carpinteria, an oceanside city near Santa Barbara, Sunday night, with friends, family and those who had worked with him over the years paying tribute to the Canadian TV icon.
As reported by E! News, attendees at the service included the entire cast of “Growing Pains” (including Kirk Cameron and Leonardo DiCaprio), comedians Bob Saget and Bill Maher, and Thicke’s Canadian compadre Alex Trebek, host of “Jeopardy!” Entertainment Tonight can confirm Kris Jenner was seated next to Thicke’s widow, Tanya, at the memorial attended by 150 people.
A member of the family shared some photos on a public page, writing: “Tonight’s memorial for Alan was just about perfect. So much family and so many historic friends came out to remember our beloved father-figure. Speaking for Alan so beautifully was (I’m realizing now) an all-star cast.”
According to the Facebook post: “We heard from our own Robin Thicke who brought up all dear dad’s best friends, Bob Saget, Bill Maher, Alex Trebec [sic] who I had no idea had such old deep ties to our family, the entire cast of ‘Growing Pains’ including Leo [DiCaprio] and Kirk Cameron who I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time, along with his wife who became an instant friend.”
The post also included a photo of Trebek speaking at the memorial.
Other stars to attend Thicke’s memorial were Kevin Costner, Barry Bonds, Luc Robitaille, David Foster and Paul Mitchell.
