The Hollywood Reporter sat down with iconic comedian Jerry Lewis to discuss the business with personalities in their ’90s. The magazine interviewed 10 nonagenarians and most of the interviews went well – except one.
Reporter Andy Lewis admits that going into the interview, he had a bad feeling that it wouldn’t go as planned. “The second I walked into his Vegas house and saw him watching TV with his headphones on. He looked angry. I already knew Lewis’ reputation for being difficult and acerbic with his audiences and in interviews. And he’s a well-known control freak,” he revealed.

Throughout the interview, the comedian complained about the crews’ equipment, how many people were in the house and how the photo shoot shots were set up. “By the time we sat down for the interview about an hour later, Lewis had worked up a full of head of steam, and it seemed like he was punishing THR by doing the interview by being as uncooperative as possible,” Lewis admitted.
The interview is awkward, funny and proves Jerry Lewis is as vital as ever.
