And so, after two years on the road, hundreds of shows, indoor festivals, outdoor festivals, execrable hotel movies, airplane peanuts, and interviews, Ellie Goulding is going home. Far be it for us to begrudge the 27-year-old English singer-songwriter a moment’s respite in her brand new London home but we surely can’t be alone in our insatiable craving for all things Ellie. Such was the magnitude of the release of her sophomore album “Halcyon’, that the singer has been about as in-demand as one musician can be. Given the hectic schedule of one as ubiquitous as she, has the young star had a chance to reflect on an incredible couple of years?

“I actually haven’t,”; she confessed to Sangita Patel shortly after Goulding’s surprise acoustic set at the Rdio House in Toronto. “I just finished a two-year tour… I think it’s for the best that I’m going to be going home.”;

Once she is back home in London, however, the real work begins, as she works to get herself settled in her new abode. “It’s not ready to move into yet. The one i’m living in is so small. I’ve got too much stuff. I need a bigger space. Saying that, this new place isn’t that big. I’m really addicted to coziness rather than big open spaces so we’ll see how it goes.”;

Goulding was on hand to acknowledge the partnership between the Toronto International Film Festival and Rdio, who is its official music partner. Rdio also announced an update to its app, which includes free internet radio for subscribers. Should you find yourself wandering the epicentre of the festival along Toronto’s King West, look for Rdio’s listening station, where you can, er… listen to these stations, as well as all the latest albums, classic artists, and your favourite songs.

Which begs the obvious question: What is Ellie’s favourite song? A tough question to answer but she managed to summon a few.  “”Jolene’ by Dolly Parton… Anything by Kate Bush.”;
