Cindy Crawford is all about embracing her age now that she is 50.
While speaking with NewBeauty for the magazine’s Winter-Spring 2017 issue, the former supermodel opens up about accepting her age and facing the double-standard that exists for models, primarily on social media. “No matter what I do, I’m not going to look 20, or 30,” she explains. “I just want to look great for 50.”
Crawford, whose 15-year-old daughter Kaia Gerber recently entered the modelling world, adds, “I exercise, eat healthy, and take really good care of my skin. There’s pressure on women to do the undoable, which is not age. But it’s about looking great for however old you are, regardless of what number it is.”
Despite accepting her own age, Crawford explains that she still receives criticism for not looking as young. “I don’t need everyone on Instagram pointing out that I don’t look the same way I did when I was 20,” she says. “I know that. Sometimes when you’re in the public eye, it can be hard, and that’s where you kind of have to work on yourself.”
