Being approached by fans is part of the territory when one becomes famous, but sometimes these encounters can step over the line when they occur during awkward moments when privacy is breached — say, while relieving oneself.

That’s what “Sherlock” star Martin Freeman and two-time Oscar-nominee Will Smith discussed on this week’s edition of “The Graham Norton Show”, each revealing they’ve found themselves dealing with starstruck fans while answering nature’s call.

“I was at a gig years ago and I was at the urinal and it was two guys… I think it was ‘Office’ days, and they both clocked me and looked at each other and went, ‘Has he got a big one?'” said Freeman.

Fellow guest Helen Mirren actually started that particular discussion by revealing she’ll often get recognized while standing in line waiting for a stall in the ladies’ room. “Then word goes out and now you’re having a conversation with this whole queue of people, all the time slowly moving towards the cabinet that’s empty,” she quipped, “and then knowing that everybody’s going to be listening.”
