Robert Pattinson, waiter extraordinaire?
While Pattinson’s portrayal of sexy limo driver Jerome Fontana in David Cronenberg’s Maps To The Stars was only a one-time role, ET Canada sat down with the actor to get the details on what could have become of the Brit had he not pursued acting.
During his time in Toronto for TIFF, Pattinson has been all smiles with fans — snapping selfies and signing autographs! But before he was an a-list actor, life was quite different for the 28-year-old. “I worked as a waiter for years! It’s kind of my dream to go back to being a waiter. It was kind of my dream job,” he told co-host Sangita Patel. “But I got fired because I dropped a bottle of wine on someone’s head!”
And if times happen to get rough for Pattinson, the actor has no problem resorting to chauffeuring people around Toronto. When asked where he would take Patel in the city, Pattinson thinks of food first. “Maybe some poutine! Some poutine!”; he laughed.
Speaking of new career paths, the former Twilight star’s sister, Lizzie, is embarking on a whole new journey of her own with X-Factor UK. Pattingson admits that he’s is looking forward to sharing the spotlight with his older sibling rather soon. “Her being on that is like the most exciting thing to happen to me in such a long time!” he shared.
The 31-year-old’s audition recently aired on British television, with the personal assistant receiving a “yes”; from every single judge. Watch Pattinson’s big sis belt it out to Chantal Kreviazuk’s “Feels Like Home,”; below:
