In her memoir, “Wishful Drinking”, Carrie Fisher wrote what she wanted her obituary to say.
In one of the chapters, Fisher wrote about the iconic white dress she wore as Princess Leia. One day, George Lucas came up to her and said she can’t wear a bra under the dress.
“Ok, I’ll bite,” she said. “Why?” Lucas said because there’s no underwear in space. “You go into space and you become weightless. Then your body expands but your bra doesn’t, so you get strangled by your own underwear.”
For Fisher, that speech from her director was so convincing she wanted it as her obituary. “I tell my younger friends no matter how I go, I want it reported I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra.”
