The episode aired in 1978, with Fisher poking fun at her instant stardom, coming out to do her monologue in her Princess Leia get-up, and it even featured Obi-Wan Kenobi.

During her monologue, she admitted she felt awkward dressed up as Princess Leia. That she is “exploiting the movie,” but then said, “if I came out as myself who would recognize me?” The monologue is classic Fisher, who was always able to make fun of herself.

In classic “Saturday Night Live” fashion, she then broke into a musical number. What about? Oh, you know, being a girl from outer space.
