In an interview with Larry King, Adam Driver, who plays Kylo Ren, says we can expect his character to show some “humanity” in the latest episode. In case you missed it: Kylo Ren is the son of Han Solo and General Leia Organa. We were introduced to his character in 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and Driver is set to reprise the role in “Star Wars: Episode VIII”, which is scheduled for release in December 2017.

Driver went on to reveal that the sequel will explain much more than the first did to smooth the plot out and that both films feel socially active to him in our current political climate. “‘Star Wars’ was in response to Vietnam and a lot of what I remember talking about with JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson was this idea of terrorism, and two sides being morally justified to behave however they wanted to, to get whatever they thought was absolutely correct,” he told King.
