Reboots of our favourite shows are really in right now and Alyssa Milano’s “Charmed” is the latest to get a new rendition.
The CW Network has confirmed that it’s developing a new adaptation of the magical drama which originally ran from 1998 to 2006.
The rebooted version will not be set in modern times, but instead take place in 1976, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The very popular series followed three sisters, played by Alyssa Milano, Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs, who were actually witches. The trio used their magical abilities to protect and serve their community from supernatural beings.
“Jane the Virgin” writers, Jessica O’Toole, Amy Rardin and Jennie Snyder will also write the new version.
No cast has been set yet, but even though the new series takes place decades before the initial one, fingers crossed that original cast members Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowen will come back in some way.
After EW announced the reboot, both Combs and Milano took to Twitter to show their excitement and gratitude for their fans.
