The relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is heating up, with the dashing young prince accompanying the “Suits” star to Norway in order to view the spectacular Northern Lights.

According to Us Weekly, sources confirm that the couple had initially planned to vacation in a warmer, sunnier clime, but made a last-minute decision to go see the Northern Lights after a friend told them the spectacle was “at its best right now.”

An insider tells Us Weekly that the prince and Markle each spent Christmas with their respective families before reuniting in England to ring in the new year. “They spent New Year’s Eve together in London before traveling to Norway,” said the source.

Staying with Harry’s friend Inge Solheim in the town of Tromso, the couple set aside two full nights to take in the spectacular Aurora Borealis, and also undertook such excursions as whale watching, dog-sledding and some remote dinner dates.

“Harry wanted to make this first holiday something Meg will never forget,” a source told The Sun. “It wasn’t an obvious choice like a glitzy beach resort or tropical island.”

Added the source: “He’d put a lot of thought into it and wanted to make it as romantic and special as possible. Harry wanted to get away from everyone and be totally on their own — just them. The Northern Lights are at their best at this time of year and currently have been the most amazing for ages. They really have had an unforgettable time.”
