Actress/singer/author Hilary Duff may have stepped away from the pop spotlight for a bit, but that doesn’t mean anticipation isn’t red hot for her upcoming comeback effort slated to arrive before the end of 2014.
ET Canada snagged an interview with Hilary to chat about her first new album in seven years and the former Disney Channel star says she’s not aiming to emulate what she’s done before.
“I don’t feel like I have to be who I used to be, or try to top that,“; Hilary told ET Canada.
The 26-year-old multitalented celeb also says she’s a big supporter of her modern-day pop peers, although she won’t be trying to force herself to fit that mould.
“I’m such a huge fan of all these girls out here just dominating, you know,“; explained the star. “But I didn’t want to listen to the radio and feel pressure to sound exactly like that.“
Speaking of fans, Hilary has faith in hers and how they’ll approach this new full-length.
“I think people love me, and remember me, and they’re not wanting me to fail, but you know it’s going to take a little bit of convincing,“; shares Hilary.
During that period away from the shine of the spotlight, Hilary became a mom to a li’l bundle of joy named Luca. The Cheaper by the Dozen star says motherhood has revolutionized her priorities.
“Being a mom now has taken so much pressure off the “what ifs’. Like, “what if?’ Okay. I’m still going to be Luca’s mom and I still have an important role in life. And I think taking that break made me so human again.“
