Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce just got a little messier.
After agreeing on a divorce settlement of $7 million back in August, Heard is claiming Depp has ignored their settlement by refusing to pay her in the installments previously agreed upon.
Depp has now asked the judge to make Heard pay $100,000 in monetary sanctions, because according to TMZ Depp believes that Heard does not actually want a divorce and is only going through with this ordeal for “public attention.”
In the documents Depp’s legal team filed back in December declared that Heard, “continues to needlessly litigate a case which has been settled, all while parading in front of the media in a desperate attempt to extend her 15 minutes of fame.”
Heard responded to Depp’s claims, “I am now told that Johnny is taking outrageous steps of seeking legal fees from me because I have asked the court to enforce the settlement agreement that we reached four months ago. I am told the Johnny somehow claims I am the one who is delaying settlement rather than the other way around. These claims are contemptible and shocking.”

She then stated that it is really Depp who is dragging his feet in the divorce, “I want my life back. I want to be divorced from Johnny now.”
If Heard fails to pay the $100,000 in sanctions for Depp’s attorney’s fees and costs, Depp has asked if he would be allowed to take the $100,000 away from his next equalization payment.
