Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt’s Wedding A Hit On Newsstands

People magazine’s coverage of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s “dream day” paid off big time on newsstands. The issue, which ran the week of September 15, made the list of the top 20 percent issues of 2014 according to data agency MagNet.

People, which managed to score an interview with the couple, along with exclusive details and photos from the couple’s secret August 23 nuptials, labelled the special issue as a “Jolie-Pitt family wedding album.”;

“Overall, the issue outperformed its prior-year release by more than 20 percent, as well as its average sale over the past year by that same amount,” offered MagNet senior vice president Joshua Gary.

The issued outperformed People‘s equivalent 2013 issue — with Katie Couric as the cover girl — and “indexing 20 percent better than People’s first-half single-copy sales average for 2014.”;

Despite paying a large sum for the exclusive coverage, People did not manage to topple their own sales numbers of recent tribute issues to Robin Williams and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
