Andrew Garfield Explains Golden Globes Kiss With Ryan Reynolds On ‘The Late Show’

Andrew Garfield dropped by “The Late Show” on Tuesday, and Stephen Colbert wanted to know about that Golden Globes kiss, when Garfield laid one on Ryan Reynolds during the award show.

According to the “Hacksaw Ridge” star, the whole thing had to do with Reynolds losing out to fellow Canadian Ryan Gosling in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category.

“I just wanted Ryan to know that I loved him no matter whether he won or lost,” joked Garfield. “I just wanted him to know that it doesn’t matter, it’s how you play the game. He showed up, he gave his all, it doesn’t change anything in my heart.”

But that wasn’t enough of an answer to satisfy Colbert, who had a followup: “Are you very comfortable with kissing other men?”

Garfield responsed by leaning over and locking lips with Colbert — asked and answered!

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT; you can also watch full episodes online.
