Don’t mess with Cara Delevingne, especially if you don’t have your facts straight.
The 24-year-old actress found herself at the center of attacks from a Twitter troll on Saturday, who told her to focus her energy on finding a “real job,” which as you can imagine, didn’t go down so well with Delevingne.
It all started after the “Suicide Squad” star tweeted about an “incredibly exciting” undisclosed project that she was “very nervous” for.
Soon after, however, the troll took aim, writing, “@Caradelevingne hopefully an interview for a real job. Your looks will fade, Cara. You can’t cash in on your eyebrows forever.”
That’s where Delevingne stepped in, defending herself and the project.
“You will regret saying that,” she wrote. “I am actually trying to do something good. This has nothing to do with my ‘looks.'”
“You are just a another thirsty man who puts people down for attention on Twitter and who thinks that looks are all that’s important,” she followed up, after the person continued to criticize her. “Try doing something for the world, period! I have no time no another man trying to tear down a woman for being successful.”
After telling the troll to go read a book, the follower responded by telling Delevingne it was simply a bit of “career advice.”
“Stop being rude, Cara. I am just giving you career advice to help you succeed. Maybe listen to it. Might get you somewhere,” the person wrote, before bragging about having a “very successful career,” being “very famous,” and only wanting to help.
“Good for you!,” Delevingne replied. “I hope that makes you happy. You certainly have an interesting way of trying to help people.”
After all was said and done, the British star’s secret project was finally revealed, as UN Foundation Girl Up announced that Delevingne was with them meeting with refugees in Uganda.
