Jonathan Roy’s major-label debut album, ‘Mr. Optimist Blues’, comes out on Friday, January 20, and to celebrate, Roy has released the music video for “Good Things” and it is steamy.
The song is a personal one for Roy. “I was going through a very painful, emotional period trying to get over a recent relationship breakup. ‘Good Things’ really hit home hard. It was a song I needed to sing,” he revealed.
Javier Aguilera directed the film-like music video and says it was exciting to collaborate with Roy, whom, he says, was really committed to the role, “both emotionally and physically.”
Roy is the son of hockey legend Patrick Roy. In 2013, he met pop-icon Corey Hart. The pair had a musical connection right away and Hart signed Roy to his Siena Records label. Roy has had success over the past few years, earning the Top Ten hits “Daniella Denmark” and “You’re My Ace.”
