Tom Hardy is the latest actor to become a hard frontrunner for the role of the next James Bond.
According to The Sun, the latest bookmakers’ odds reveal that the 39-year-old “Taboo” star has a three-to-one chance of landing the coveted 007 slot, in addition to 33-year-old Irish “Poldark” actor, Aidan Turner and 31-year-old English “War & Peace” star, James Norton.
Hardy most recently sparked speculation that he would be following Daniel Craig after playing coy on the subject in an interview with The Daily Beast. When asked if he would play the next Bond, the actor remarked, “If you talk about it you’re automatically out of the race.”
Other so-called contenders include “Ben-Hur” star Jack Huston with five-to-one odds, “The Night Manager” actor Tom Hiddleston and “Luther” star Idris Elba both with eight-to-one odds, in addition to Ryan Gosling at 10-to-one odds and Michael Fassbender at 20-to-one.
