André Leon Talley: he’s a style icon. He’s the former editor-at-large for Vogue magazine. He’s been a front-row regular at London, New York, Paris, and Milan fashion shows for a quarter century. He’s a pretty big deal.
Alas, this week, he’s simply known as the guy who got the short shrift on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Ouch!
Here’s the scoop: while interviewed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, André was asked how he felt about being blurred out of Kim’s wedding episode of the Kardashian reality show. And let’s just say he was more than a little shocked to hear the news.
“Was I blurred out? What?!”; he asked. “Oh my goodness, I signed a big release.”;
He added, “Blurred out? Ooooh! How blurred out was it?”;
The answer: very much indeed. In scenes where André appeared next to Kim, Kanye West, and other Kardashian-Jenner family members, producers opted to obscure his entire face. Fortunately, his trademark kaftan outfit and imposing 6’6″ stature were still on display, allowing fashion-forward fans to identify him pretty darn quickly.
“Kim’s gonna hear from me tonight,”; André pledged to the audience. Uh-oh: looks like somebody’s going to have some explaining to do.
