So how did George Clooney and his fiancee, Amal Alamuddin, spend their last evening as a non-married couple?

Well, like many who’ve gone done the marital path before them, they opted to split the night up by gender. Amal took a water-taxi to the Aman Canal Grande resort in Venice, accompanied by over a dozen women, including her sister Tala, her mother Bari, and fellow attorney Philippa Webb. The bride-to-be absolutely stunned in a gorgeous red and black gown from the Alexander McQueen Resort collection.

As for George, his bachelor party was a low-key affair (well, by Hollywood standards). The 53-year-old took a water-taxi of his own to the famous Da Ivo restaurant — one of his favourite Venice haunts — with a half-dozen friends, including his business partner, Rande Gerber. George’s attire: a casual-yet-stylish dark suit with an unbuttoned collar. The menu: stuffed zucchini flowers, figs and ham, razor clams, and fresh Tagliolini pasta with truffles, rice, and button mushrooms.

And yes, the couple’s presence turned Venice on its head. Their Friday night on the town was met with approximately 30 boats clogging up the Grand Canal. In fact, at one point, George and his bachelor party pals had to make their way down a side canal just to reach their destination.
