By Shakiel Mahjouri.

A hundred thousand dollars were spent for a series of music video shoots that artist Young Thug barely even took part in.

This mess ended up becoming the premise of the Atlanta rapper’s music video for his popular single “Wyclef Jean”, named after The Fugees member. Directed by Pomp & Clout, the video reportedly cost six figures and Young Thug barely makes an appearance due to a number of factors, including a hacked Instagram account.

An altercation between Thug’s camp and police even rendered some footage useless, contributing to the videos’ budgets spiralling way out of control. With very little of the music video’s original concept actually captured, the directors instead took a differrent approach by explaining within the videos just how everything fell apart — creating something wildly entertaining and wholly original.
