Since the beginning of recorded history, humans have pondered the existence of an afterlife, but what if we suddenly had scientific proof?

That’s the premise of “The Discovery”, a new film produced by Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute that’s making its debut on Netflix.

In this sci-fi romance, the revelation that the afterlife actually exists creates unexpected consequences among the living as millions commit suicide to escape their unhappy lives, secure in the knowledge that their consciousnesses will continue in the great beyond.

Also starring Jesse Plemons, Riley Keough and Robert Redford, “The Discovery” will make its official debut at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival before premiering on Netflix on Friday, Mar. 31.
