It looks like Washington University in St. Louis is looking to get students engaged in the world of Kanye West.
According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 75 students have been registered for a course called “Politics of Kanye West: Black Genius and Sonic Aesthetics.”
The course began last week and there is already a waiting list to get into the class. The course’s professor, Jeffrey McCune, says that the curriculum focuses on West as a rapper, producer and fashion designer. It also offers ways for students to connect West’s career with issues of politics, race, gender, sexuality and culture.
This is not the first time a college course about the “College Dropout” rapper has come to life. Georgia State University offered a similar course in in 2015 and in 2014 a course at the University of Missouri focused on West and his good friend Jay Z.
Other stars to have University courses modeled after them include Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Diddy, late stars like Prince, Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur.
