According to an AdAge report, Fox rejected the commercial from 84 Lumber, a building supply company. The commercial allegedly depicted a border wall, as imagined based on U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s suggestion one be built along the border between the United States and Mexico, to keep immigrants out.
“Fox rejected our original commercial because they determined that some of the imagery, including ‘the wall’ would be too controversial,” said 84 Lumber’s CEO, Michael Brunner. “So we went back and revised the spot to make it acceptable to them.” He also said that the idea for the ad was to promote the company and pride in the workforce.
According to Brunner, Fox has now approved the revamped spot for the game and 84 Lumber will be putting its original version online.
