A brief first look at the audition process for Netflix’s “Casting JonBenet” may be unsettling to some.

The teaser clip, less than one minute in length, was released by Netflix on Thursday, ahead of the film’s premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. In the clip, a group of young blonde girls compete for the role of JonBenet, gathering on folding chairs.
Dressed as the deceased six-year-old child beauty pageant queen, a little girl named Hannah holds a slate and asks the camera: “Do you know who killed JonBenet?”

The trailer doesn’t offer much of a clue as to what viewers can expect from “Casting JonBenet”, but depicts a tone that is more curious than melancholic. Watch the clip above.
