Director James Wan’s long-awaited Aquaman is starting to really come together.
Wan took to Twitter on Tuesday to share a snapshot of the film’s cast — including Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard and Jason Momoa — who assembled for a table read of their upcoming aquatic superhero movie.
“After school detention with the new Breakfast Club,” Wan captioned the pic, referencing John Hughes’ beloved 1985 teen dramedy.
In the film, Momoa stars as the eponymous Aquaman, while Heard plays Mera, a powerful undersea queen and the DC hero’s love. Wilson is set to play the villainous Ocean Master.
While Momoa and Heard will debut their characters in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Justice League film in November, Wilson’s Atlantean baddie will make his cinematic debut next year in Aquaman’s standalone adventure.
Momoa recently spoke with ET’s Philiana Ng while promoting his new Netflix drama Frontier, and the 37-year-old star — best known for his role as Khal Drogo on HBO’s Game of Thrones — marveled at the scope of working on a big-budget blockbuster like Justice League.
“I’ve never been on a big movie before. I did Batman v Superman for one or two days. I just experienced Justice League, which is the biggest thing I’ve ever done,” he shared. “It’s beyond. It’s nothing to be compared to.”
Back in October, ET caught up with Wan the at the Australians in Film Awards Gala, where the filmmaker — best known for helming Saw, The Conjuring and Furious 7 — gave fans a little taste of what to expect from his Aquaman project.
“The spirit that I’m going for is like a classic sort of swashbuckling action adventure, sort of high seas adventure story,” Wan shared. “It’s ultimately a quest story in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark meets Romancing the Stone.” Check out the video below to hear more.
Fans will get a chance to see Momoa bring Aquaman to life for the first time when Justice League hits theaters Nov. 17, 2017. Aquaman is slated for release on Oct. 5, 2018.
