Not all celebrity divorces end in bitter custody battles, such as exes Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr, who apparently have a great post-divorce relationship as they share custody of the their six-year-old son, Flynn.

“We’re a modern family,” the 33-year-old model explained to People at the Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates 150 Most Fashionable Women event in Los Angeles on Friday.

“Orlando and I are literally like family, he’s like a brother to me,” Kerr said of the “amazing” dynamic she shares with her ex. “It’s very weird, but we really care for each other and we have a great relationship, so I feel very lucky.”

This goodwill extends to Bloom’s new love, Katy Perry, and Kerr reveals that the “Rise” singer has an excellent relationship with Flynn. “They’re great,” shared Kerr. “They get along really well.”

As Kerr describes, her son appears to be a budding artist. “He draws caricatures and faces. He likes to build things as well. It’s just fun to do that. He loves it.”

Bloom and Kerr were married in 2010 and divorced in 2013. The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star and Perry have been dating for more than a year, with rumours the pair were an item first emerging when they were spotted cozying up together at the Golden Globes in January 2016.

The couple “are not engaged yet” but “seem to be heading that way,” a source told People in August, adding: “[Bloom] would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids.”
