Cameron Mathison has come a long way since his soap-star days on All My Children. Since then, the Sarnia, Ont. native has hoofed it on Dancing With the Stars, served as a correspondent on Extra and even developed a line of children’s clothing with wife Vanessa Arevalo.
But Cameron admits his latest project is taking him into uncharted territory as a hunky male nanny — or “manny”; — in the made-for-TV rom-com Along Came A Nanny.
ET Canada caught up with Cameron on the Vancouver Along Came a Nanny, and the actor explains that his character is actually a cop who goes undercover as a nanny in order to solve a series of mysterious burglaries plaguing a suburban neighbourhood. “I play Mike Logan,”; he says, “who’s a detective who wants to keep moving up… He comes up with the idea as a way to solve these crimes, to go undercover as a nanny slash manny — it’s a lot of fun.”;
As the father of two, would Cameron be opening to hire a male nanny to look after his kids? “Yeah I think I would probably hire a manny,”; he says, “if I was traveling a lot and I was away… I wouldn’t hire this guy, though, because Mike Logan — my character — is a little bit of a mess as far as like the nanny side.”;
