Ryan Reynolds may not have received an Oscar nomination for “Deadpool”, but on Friday he received an accolade that’s nearly as prestigious when he visited Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to accept the Man of the Year award from Hasty Pudding Theatricals.
The annual award, bestowed since 1967, honours performers who have made lasting contributions to the world of entertainment, with past recipients including the likes of Clint Eastwood, Chris Pratt, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Bill Murray and numerous other A-listers.
During the presentation, Reynolds was asked to make fun of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady — a decidedly dodgy proposition when in Boston during Super Bowl weekend.

“Oh God, that’s a terrible thing to do,” said Reynolds. “You know we’re in Boston, right? Tom, I’m afraid your voting skills are as bad as…” he added before trailing off.
During the post-event press conference, Reynolds admitted that despite Brady’s pro-Trump political stance, he’ll still be pulling for the Patriots in Sunday’s Super Bowl. “I’ll be rooting for the Patriots and for Tom Brady. I’m very excited, and I’m hoping for a humiliating defeat against the other team,” he said. “Green Bay is my main team but when they’re out, I just enjoy the Patriots.”

According to the Daily Mail, Reynolds did his fair share of goofing around during the ceremony, at one point giving a lap dance to one of the Hasty Pudding members, who, as traditional dictates, was dressed in drag.
During his acceptance speech, Reynolds shared a cute family moment involving his young daughters with wife Blake Lively.
“Just seeing my older daughter be so infatuated with our younger daughter, who’s four months old,” he said. “Seeing her kiss her and hug her and hold her, it kinda crushed me. But would put anyone else to sleep.”
