Is there a more perfect and explosive pairing than “The Fate of the Furious” and the Super Bowl?

A new trailer for the high octane “Fast 8” premiered during the 2017 Super Bowl and promises the same adrenaline-pumping action that longtime-watchers of the franchise have come to expect. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham’s characters are at odds in the one minute clip.

The Super Bowl spot also highlights a wicked car chase through a slippery and precariously icy arctic surface. F. Gary Gary’s eighth edition of the franchise stars Johnson and Statham, alongside Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Kurt Russell, Charlize Theron and Scott Eastwood.

“The Fate of the Furious” was at the centre of some intense beef between stars Johnson and Diesel, after the former WWE champion laid the verbal Smackdown on his “Fast 8” co-star. “Some [male co-stars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s**t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses,” Johnson wrote in a Facebook post back in August.
