AirBnB Broadcasts Politically Charged Super Bowl Ad Amid Trump’s Travel Ban

By Shakiel Mahjouri.

AirBnb airs a “#WeAccept” advertisement at the 2017 Super Bowl, in light of U.S. President Donald Trump’s restrictions on immigration.

The vacation rental app’s new commercial says little of their product, instead focusing on a politically charged message. Featuring the slogan “#WeAccept”, the Super Bowl spot shows a multiracial, mutlicultural cast of faces.

A series of text on the video reads, “We believe no matter who you are, where you’re from, who you love or who you worship we all belong.” The commercials ends with the words, “The world is more beautiful the more you accept.”

AirBnb’s message broadcasts amid serious tension over Trump’s travel ban on people entering the U.S. from seven predominately Muslim countries, an executive order that was temporarily blocked by a federal judge on Friday.
