This year the world witnessed the debut of one of the most exciting Pink and Green collaborations this side of Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog.
Unlikely allies Alecia Moore (a.k.a. Pink) and Dallas Green (a.k.a. City & Colour) have aligned forces to form the folk tinged duo known as You+Me. The pair spoke with ET Canada about their surprising new musical tag team and indicated that they make a pretty good match.
“I’m terrified of writing down the wrong thing,”; admitted Green to ET Canada. “Working with Alecia, she’s so – she writes until she finds the right thing. It was amazing to watch that happen.”;
The You+Me duo say that connecting as people has also helped them connect in the studio. “We’ve been through the same s***,”; explains Green. “So we can talk about that and it just so happens we can sing about it together too.”;
Both Moore and Green note that their work as solo acts occasionally gets labelled or pigeonholed. Sometimes to the point where compliments can come across as unintentional digs!
“A lot of people tell me they fall asleep to my music, which I always remind them sounds like you’re telling me I’m boring,”; says Green.
“It’s funny, with me, everyone with me is like “I work out to your music.’ I’m like “Treadmill Girl’,”; counters the “Trouble”; hitmaker. “I always wanted to make a record where people could open up a nice bottle of wine and cook dinner for their family.”;
