Mark Consuelos Is Not Mean To Kelly Ripa After Sex, Just Very Sleepy

You know that couple that tends to reveal way too much personal information about their relationship? Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are that couple, only instead of the confines of a dinner party they tend to spill TMI details on live television.

That was certainly the case when Consuelos appeared to co-host alongside his wife on last week’s “Live With Kelly”, informing viewers that her spouse may be all lovey-dovey when wooing her into having sex, but becomes significantly less so after the act is completed.

“When there’s special married couple time in our house — do you know what I’m talking about?” Ripa hinted. “Because there’s kids watching so I’m just going to say, let’s call it special grownup time.”

Then Ripa dropped the bombshell, and it was kind of weird. “He’s immediately mean to me afterwards and I don’t like that,” she explained as Consuelos grinned awkwardly.

“I think it’s bizarre. He becomes short with me, like irritated. I’m like, ‘Oh, now you’re irritated? You were so loving three minutes ago!'” she accused, implying that Consuelos is more of a sprinter than a marathon man, if you get the drift.

But it turns out the couple’s statements gave people the wrong impression. Clearing things up on Wednesday, Ripa and Consuelos admitted that “mean” may have been the wrong descriptor. “I was joking, this is a funny, irreverent show. I didn’t realize that it would be trending news.” Consuelos backed up his wife of more than 20 years, “No one can be mean after something if they’re unconscious… I sleep!”

Ripa and Consuelos met back in 1995 on the set of “All My Children” when both were working on the long-running daytime soap, and got married the following year.
