Taylor Swift is calling out critics on their sexist songwriting double standards.

The “Shake It Off”; superstar addressed the issue while appearing in an interview on an Australian radio show. Taylor took issue with the way her songs are analyzed for their past and present relationship content and she wasn’t afraid to speak up about it.

“You’re going to have people who are gonna say, ‘Oh you know, like she just writes songs about her ex-boyfriends,’ and I think, frankly, that’s just a very sexist angle to take,”; said Taylor during her appearance on Jules, Merrick & Sophie.

Taylor says her songwriting is placed under the microscope way more often than her male peers.

“No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says it about Bruno Mars,”; noted the singer/actress. “They’re all writing about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love life and no one raises a red flag there.”;
